Don't worry: I made the same mistake as you probably did. The route is not pronounced 'Passa Païs', but 'Passo Païs'. Because it runs through Occitania, where in addition to French, Occitan is also spoken. The name means something like 'crossing the country' and refers to an 80-kilometer-long cycle
